A Note From Our Team
Please feel free to call our office during regular office hours before you decide to go to Urgent Care or the Emergency Department for non-life-threatening health issues. Many concerns can be handled with a same-day sick visit or treated in our office as a minor injury. If your child receives care outside of our practice, please let us know as soon as possible so we can keep their records up to date and give you the best care possible.
Tanasbourne Pediatrics follows the immunization guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our practice believes that all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to these guidelines. Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing disease and health complications in children and young adults, and regular vaccinations are one of the safest and best methods of disease prevention.
Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (closed for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) and Friday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. To ensure a timely visit, please complete all necessary paperwork before your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete your forms.
We are glad to have you join our practice.
Additional Information
Well-Child Care
Seeing children and parents at regular intervals is important for maintaining your child’s health. Well-child and adolescent visits are a time to evaluate growth and development, discuss safety, nutrition, and behavior, and answer your age-related questions. As recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, we encourage the following well-child care schedule:
- 2 to 5 days of age
- 2 weeks of age
- 4 weeks of age
- 2 months of age
- 4 months of age
- 6 months of age
- 9 months of age
- 12 months of age
- 15 months of age
- 18 months of age
- 24 months of age
- 30 months of age
- Annual visits (3 to 18 years of age)
During some of these visits, immunizations will be given and routine laboratory tests may be done. We encourage scheduling well-child visits in advance so you can have your preferred day and time.
Sick Child Care
We will see sick children on the same day whenever possible. Please call to make an appointment, as walk-in visits are not encouraged and may not be possible. If you suspect your child has a highly contagious illness such as COVID-19, let us know and we will give you instructions on how to enter the clinic. Sick visit appointments are typically shorter than well visits.
Mask Policy
To keep patients in our common areas safe and our staff healthy, patients and family members over the age of 2 with any of the following symptoms are required to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose at all times while in our office:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Eye redness or discharge
- Runny nose
- Chills
- Body aches
We appreciate your help keeping everyone healthy!
After-Hours Care
When our office is closed, our answering service will respond to calls to our office. The answering service will contact the doctor on call or an experienced nurse from Randall Pediatric Hospital, who will return your call. Please call 911 if you have a true emergency. If your call is urgent, let the answering service know and they will attempt to reach the physician immediately. For non-urgent calls, expect a return call in about an hour.
Please see our policies page for information about our appointment and vaccine policies.
